How Ogun West APC Leaders Adopted Gov. Dapo Abiodun, Noimot Salako-Oyedele For Second Term

As the race for the 2023 general elections is gathering momentum, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ogun West have adopted Governor Dapo Abiodun and Eng. (Mrs.) Noimot Salako-Oyedele as Governor and Deputy Governor of Ogun State respectively for second term.
The adoption, followed a motion moved by a former commissioner for works in Ogun State, Hon. Waliu Olayiwola Taiwo.
Reports indicated that Taiwo, currently the Chairman of the Ogun State House of Assembly Service Commission, impressed it upon the APC leaders in Ogun West during a recent senatorial meeting  held at the popular Orona hall in Ilaro, that the duo of Abiodun and Salako-Oyedele have delivered on their campaign promises and have given the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
“It was agreed at the meeting that supporting a candidate from a new party or from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not an option
“They pointed out that in Ogun West, there is no serious candidate in the PDP to contest for governorship position in the state.
“Then they agreed that the only option left is the APC, and that Governor Dapo Abiodun as the leader of the party, qualifies for the position once again.

“Waliu Taiwo told them that as a performing Governor, the only thing they  could do was to give Dapo Abiodun and Noimot Salako-Oyedele support in Ogun West,” a source at the meeting told us.

The source revealed further that Hon. Waliu Taiwo then moved a motion during the meeting for Ogun West to adopt Dapo Abiodun and Eng. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, who he described as the daughter of the soil, to be his Deputy for a second term.
We were informed that the motion was seconded by one person from each local government in the area.
“In Ipokia, the commissioner for Culture supported it. A former member of the state house of assembly from Yewa South, and Hon. Sotayo equally seconded it,” a source told us.
The motion, we were told,  was then thrown to the floor for adoption.
Among the people at the meeting, who equally supported the motion as moved by Hon. Taiwo were a former assembly member, during the time of former governor Bisi Onabanjo, Hon. Ajibola, Chief (Mrs.) Iyabo Apampa, Chief Olu Agemo, Chief Durojaiye Ayedogbon, two out of the three members of the Federal House of Representatives from the area, Hon. Ojugbele from Ado-Odo/Ota and the person representing Imeko Afon, Yewa South.
“Also at the meeting were a former governorshio candidate of the PPN, who has contested three times as governor in the state, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isaka (GNI), all the members of the state house of assembly from the area, led by the Majority Leader, Hon. Yusuff Sheriff Abiodun,  all the members of the APC state exco in Ogun West, including the state secretary, Hon. Tella and the Ogun West APC senatorial leader as well as all the elected executive local government chairmen in Ogun West,” the source said.
The meeting reportedly ended with a resolve by the leaders of the APC in Ogun West to get back to their followers and set-up machinery to start a massive campaign that would ensure victory for both Dapo Abiodun and Eng. (Mrs.) Noimot Salako-Oyedele “so that they can continue their good works from 2023.”
