In his word,”I believe that Ado-Odo/Ota deserves more in terms of development. This is perhaps the most industrialised local government in Nigeria and yet most of our roads are begging for urgent attention.

“There is no doubt that our action Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun is up to the task. Many of us can testify to his good works since he got into office as Governor in the area of road construction, healthcare, education, housing, rural electrification and development.

“Prince Abiodun is committed to the development of Ogun State and the people can see what he has done to move the state forward despite the economic challenges in the country and how he handled the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic in the state,” he said.

The politician also paid glowing tributes to the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele, who he said has made Ado-Odo/Ota proud as a daughter of the soil.

According to him, Salako-Oyedele, who he said has been cooperating with Governor Dapo Abiodun for the development of the state, should be commended for facilitating development into Ado-Odo/Ota.

Oni gave an instance of Joju Road and several others that are under construction as well as many other developmental projects in the area as the handiwork of Engr. Salako-Oyedele, adding that the people of the area are proud of her while we are trusting that she will still use her good office and the cordial relationship existing between her and His Excellency to do more in terms of dividends of Democracy to the Local Goverment.

“Her Excellency and a daughter of Ado-Odo/Ota, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele is a very good Ambassador of the local government and at the same time, a virtous woman.

“Her cooperation with the executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR is yielding positive results and we can see her works all over Ado-Odo/Ota. This shows that she is representing us well and her combination with the Governor will make the state witnessing more Progress,” he declares!

He noted that the contribution of Ogun State to Nigeria’s independence through the likes of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and others could not be over-emphasised, adding that Ado-Odo/Ota, as an historical settlement of the Aworis, has also been part of history and that her indigenes have immensely contributed their own quota to nation building.

While urging the federal government not to abandon many of the federal roads in Ado-Odo/Ota LG, he said that they should complement the efforts of Governor Dapo Abiodun, who he said has been fulfilling his campaign promises to the people of the area.

“We cannot deny the efforts of our governor, but we all know that the resources of the state are limited and this is why we are being greatly affected by the current economic challenges in the country and the money spent to fight Coronavirus Pandemic.

“What we are saying is that the Federal Government should pay more attention to Ado-Odo/Ota and join hands with our Governor to make the area better since it houses several industries that pay taxes to the Federal Government.

“I am also appealing to the private sector, especially those who have industries in Ado-Odo/Ota, to help develop the area, especially in the area of road construction.

“Most of our roads are terrible, so I will urge them not to leave everything to our amiable Governor, whose giant strides in the state and the local government are there for everybody to see. He is perhaps one of the best governors Ogun State has ever had and we are convinced that he even deserves a second term.”

Oni also appealed to the people of the local government to continue to support the state government and contribute their own quota to the development of the state and the local government in whatever ways they could, adding that “Ado-Odo/Ota has potentials that would soon announce it to the world as Nigeria’s emerging Dubai.”
