On The Police Report Being Marketed By The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) And Its Defeated Fugitive Candidate, Ladi Adebutu

A JOURNALIST ASKED:

“Good evening, sir.

Please, I would like to have your comment on the Police investigative report on the allegations of electoral violence and vote-buying during March 18 election, which were levelled against APC and Governor Dapo Abiodun.”

REPLY:

YOUR ALLEGATIONS AGAINST APC, ABIODUN , UNSUBSTANTIATED

– POLICE REPORT INDICT PDP’S WITNESSES

Thank you for your question.

Let me advise you to first read the report and digest it thoroughly before proceeding.

If you have monitored events dispassionately since after the elections and you have read and digested the report you are talking about, and dutifully covered proceedings at the Tribunal, you will know that there is nothing to the police report and there is no indictment on our party, APC. Even the report states expressly that the allegation of over voting made against APC by the PDP was not substantiated. Also check the dates to confirm the deceit of the petition by these sore losers.
The police report stated specifically under number Eleven of its findings: “That contrary to the claims of some of the witnesses brought forward by the PDP, Daniel Obadamilare, Adesina Sakiru, Dauda Kamil and Ogunleye Francis, their claims of vote buying cannot be substantiated as they were unable to mention the POS agents that
were alleged to have converted the cards to cash for them.”

The Police Report Concluded that:
“The APC has denied the allegations leveled against them by presenting evidences such as the Official Gazette and the Executive Order establishing the Ogun State Social Investment Program, presenting Local Government Chairmen as witnesses to its functionality at the grassroots, presenting beneficiaries of the social investment program as witnesses and
also a sample of appointment letter given to the SIOs (Social Investment
Officers).”

Please contrast this with the proven case of vote buying against PDP for which Ladi has been charged to court and currently at large from the law. The petition by PDP and fugitive Adebutu is as a laughable afterthought, a campaign after elections, containing false allegations that were not even listed in their petition before the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal. After failing to get it in through the back door at the Tribunal, they are now touting, marketing and circulating same trite allegations and unwisely citing a police report that actually indicted the PDP, its officials and its defeated candidates as liars who made unsubstantiated allegations against the APC and the Governor.

The losers are attempting to cry when the head is already off, with the vainglorious hope that they may deceive few media people who are not discerning enough
