‘Don’t Politicize Awosedo’s Death’-Ogun APC Warns APM Members

Our attention has been drawn to a press release dubiously issued in the name of our party,  the All Progressives Congress (APC), and signed by one Chief Derin Adebiyi, imposting as the Chairman of APC in Ogun State.
Firstly, we wish to alert the public that the said press release did not emanate from our party, neither is the signatory a member of our party. In fact, they are well known members of an opposition party, who not only disrupted the presidential rally and wrecked physical assault on members of the APC, but also stoned President Muhammadu Buhari and his entourage at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, on February 11, 2019.
Late Chief Jide Awosedo

Secondly, we consider it as the height of wickedness, heartlessness and irresponsibility for the  said signatory, his cohorts and sponsor(s) to choose to play politics with the death of one of our foremost leaders in Ogun State at a time we are still in shock, and the family of the deceased was yet to come to terms with the sad loss of their bread winner.

Chief Jide Awosedo, a reverend gentleman,  lived a humble, godly and peace-loving life, that we are still bewildered about what the ignoble  impersonators of our party leadership wanted to gain from politicizing his death. We sincerely hope the reckless “press statement” is not a prelude to a plan to stone dignitaries that will attend the burial, when finally fixed.
While putting the security agents on notice on yet  another machination from the people reputed for shenanigans, we  urge our loyal party members and leaders to remain calm and unprovoked even in this mournful period, as our party is in touch with the family, who will soon announce the burial programme.
