‘Don’t Sell Your Future For Ojugbele’s Okada’ -Group Tells Ado-Odo/Ota Delegates

A group; Good Governance Initiative has warned the delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State not to sell their future for gifts of Okada (motorcycle) by the member representing Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Jimoh Ojugbele as he is seeking a return to the office.

In a statement signed by the President of the group and dated May 27, 2022, Mr. Olayiwola Oludele, and made available to journalists, the delegates were warned to see beyond today and vote for an aspirant that would attract development to the community.

Oludele insisted that Ojugbele has not address the needs of Ado-Odo/Ota since he got to the green chamber some years back, adding that the delegates should not fall to his baits.

The president of the group said that there were reports that Ojugbele has bought 100 motorcycles to be distributed to the 40 delegates each from Ado-Igbesa and Ado-Odo, while the remaining 20 would be given to some leaders of the party, apart from monetary rewards.

“We are surprised that the likes of Hon. Ojugbele wants to distribute Okada to the people at a time it has been banned in a state like Lagos due to the menace of the riders.

“Reports show that some of the riders engage in armed robbery and they also use Okada to perpetuate crimes, which was why it was banned in some parts of Lagos State.

“What the people of Ado-Odo/Ota need now are educational development, healthcare, good governance, agriculture development, youth and women development and empowerment amongst others,” he said.

Oludele emphasised that someone like the Commissioner for Forestry in Ogun State, Hon. Tunji Akinosi has the capacity to make life better for the people through progressive programmes if he is given an opportunity to move to the Federal House of Representatives from the area in 2023,” he said.

He urged the delegates not to see the inducement as an opportunity to get rich, saying that whatever they get now cannot be compared to quality leadership that the area needed at this period.

“Let it be on record that we warned our people ahead on this. Where was Ojugbele before now? Why didn’t he address the issues confronting the people with his office.

“Don’t sell your future over pot of porridge, be guided by your conscience and support someone, who would make Ado-Odo/Ota the envy of all from 2023.

“We cannot afford to remain on the same level for many years, which is what Ojugbele represents now and if he should continue as your representative in the green chamber. A word is enough for the wise,” he said.
