The Senator representing ogun east senatorial district in the red chamber of the National Assembly, His Excellency, the Senator, Otunba (Engr) Gbenga Daniel ( FNSE, FAEng), a two term former Governor of Ogun State (2003 – 2011) is embarking on a ‘thank you visit ‘ to the good people of Ijebu/Remo district who voted massively for him during the last general election.
Senator Daniel in his usual character is well known for appreciating the efforts of the people irrespective of class, status or background of such people.
It was the turn of the Remo Federal Constituency which comprises of Ikene, Remo North and Sagamu local governments respectively.
Thousands of people turned out at the parking space of the Abraham Tabanacle Sagamu to welcome and appreciate Senator Daniel.
Market Leaders, party faithful, students bodies, religion leaders, artisans, physically challenged, farmers, community leaders and traditional rulers were among the thousands of people who gathered to honour /receive Senator Daniel.
The highlights of the program includes :
* giving out a brand new multi purpose tractor to members of – All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN)to boost foods production and agricultural activities within ogun east senatorial district.
* giving out grinding /sewing machines as means of empowerments.
* giving out foods palliatives to all the people that attended the program.
* giving out crash helmets to Okada riders
* giving out patrol bicycles to security agencies.
Senator Daniel had earlier sponsored many people with various eyes defects for free eyes tests/ surgical operations in ogun east and it’s a continuous exercise.
Similarly, Senator Daniel has rolled out a microcredit scheme which gives out zero interest loan facilities to petty traders across the ogun east senatorial district. This process is also ongoing.
More so, about two thousand unemployed youth across ogun east were recently employed by the federal government through the efforts of Senator Daniel.
Senator Daniel supports for farmers in ogun east senatorial district are unequal and amazing as fertilizers, seeds and adequate trainings are from time to time being benefited by the farmers.
Prior to the 2023 general elections and during campaign periods, Senator Daniel had dashed out nine tractors to the people with a view to ensuring an improved foods production in ogun east senatorial district.
Various ogun east students in tertiary institutions also benefitted scholarship awards. This is also an ongoing gesture.
Senator Daniel who is a first timer in the red chamber of the national assembly, upon his resumption in June 2023 hit the ground running as many motions/bills were raised by him on the floor of the red chamber.
Senator Daniel is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Navy, Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on National Population as well as member of the national assembly committee on works etc.
Senator Daniel is renowned for putting legacy projects on ground such as the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, various Polytechnic International Stadia and the ongoing Gateway Int’l Cargo Airport etc.
Presently, Senator Daniel is working on College of Aviation in Remo and a Naval base in Abigi, Ogun Waterside respectively and many more federal government projects are on the way.
