Rift Between Me And My Leader, Gov. Abiodun; Imagination Of Fifth Columnists-Sen. Adeola Yayi

The lawmaker representing Ogun West Senatorial District at the upper chamber of the National Assembly and Chairman Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Solomon Adeola (YAYI) has described as mere imagination of rumour mongers, the alleged feud between him and the governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

He posited that nothing could have warranted any friction between him and the governor, not even the issue of political influence or interest at any levels of government, adding that the governor remains the leader of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in the State and by extension his revered leader, saying such rumour was the handiwork of charlatans who are parading themselves as politicians.

Sen. Adeola, stressed that the structure of APC in Ogun State, which determines every opportunity or privilege that comes to the state is in firm grip of the governor without any controversy, as he leads from the front with courage and selflessness.

The Senator made this known in a statement he personally signed on Saturday and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.

According to him, scores of political jobbers and opposition elements in the state are not comfortable with the level of cooperation and cordiality that exist among major APC stakeholders in the state, especially his team and that of the governor, hence, the reason for the frivolous report.

The statement reads:”Going by the emptiness and it’s lack of substance, I wouldn’t have bothered myself to react to such mischievous publication with the notion to create unnecessary tension and acrimony where none exists, but considering the power and passion of social media, I considered it imperative to set the record straight.

For the avoidance of doubt, there is no iota of truth of any rift or clash between me and my leader, Governor Abiodun. Strictly speaking, from the inception of his administration in May, 2019, I have committed myself to support our governor in all ways possible, not only on the basis of our close personal relationship but in the interest of the development of Ogun State.

”My irreversible commitment was informed by my conviction about Governor Abiodun’s selfless service to the cause of our state and his determination to change the face of our dear state through his unprecedented developmental drive, that had elicited commendations across Nigeria and beyond.

“I can not also forget the role of His Excellency in my overwhelming success at the party primary and eventual election as the senator representing the good people of Ogun West Senatorial District. His support for me greatly demonstrated that he has the best interest of Ogun West and the people of the zone at heart, as well as the entire state.

“In view of this conviction and certainty, it is indeed satanic and highly inconceivable for anyone to just wake up from the wrong side of his bed and write about any disagreement between me and my leader and respected principal, Prince Dapo Abiodun; any report of this nature is nothing but sheer gimmicks of political obscurantist to destroy the organic bond between me and my leader, our quintessential governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

“I, therefore, urge the good people of Ogun State to disregard such report as product of hallucinations, as my relationship with Governor Dapo Abiodun, his immediate family and indeed members of his administration remains strong as ever. Together we are taking our dear state, Ogun, to greater heights in this era of Renewed Hope”.
