Rt. Hon. Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade has appointed Yomi Oke-Asiwaju, a Mediaprenuer as the Media Director for his Campaign Organisation.
The three time House of Representatives member who plans to represent Ogun West Senatorial District in the Senate declared his intention some weeks ago to the leadership of his party in Ilaro, Ogun State and has visited four Local Governments so far intimating leaders and party stalwarts of APC of his ambition.
At all the political events he has organised since his declaration, Asiwaju was conspicuously seen moderating the programmes and has in recent times seen promoting the aspiration of Hon. Akinlade on social media platforms. It didn’t come as a surprise to many when his appointment was officially announced.
A media aide to the Federal Commissioner in the Federal Character Commission, Daniel Topology broke the news on social media. He wrote; “Yomi Oke-Asiwaju born November 28, 1985 is a young and resourceful Mediaprenuer with core competence in Broadcast Journalism and Public Relations. He was a Presenter at Orisun TV alongside Lateef Adedimeji and Damilola Banire between 2012 and 2013; anchoring the popular lunch hour programme – “MILIKI EXPRESS”.
He had a stint with the defunct BankPHB (now Keystone Bank) between 2008 and 2011, where he got the award of best staff of the month in less than 100 days in office. Aside from diligently carrying out his primary responsibility, he teamed up with some other amazing colleagues of his to start and run an electronic magazine for the Bank’s Group (CSS) he served in.
Yomi is a content creator with an admirable speaking prowess. He is a sought after Public Speaker and features as a Guest Analyst on several TV Platforms such as TVC News, Galaxy TV, PlusTV Africa, OGTV; including radio stations. His other skills include; Acting, Filming and event hosting.
In 2019, he vied for House of Representatives seat to represent Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency through ACCORD party. He was later appointed by His Excellency, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun MFR as a member of his Transition Committee, Education, Youth & Sport Group. He was also appointed as a member of the LG Elections Campaign Committee in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government. He was the official MC of the Campaign Train throughout the 16 Wards. He currently works with Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Chairman as his Spokesperson and Public Relations Advisor.
As a true son of Afon in Imeko-Afon Local Government who practices politics in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, his understanding of Ogun West politics isn’t in doubt. He joined Politics early enough as a Teenager due to his father’s involvement and has since played a critical role in every election circle.
Asiwaju is famous for his contributions towards Youth Development. He is the founder of SKATA – SKILL AND TALENT ACADEMY; a platform that has empowered the dreams of about 1000 youths in Ota and it’s environs. His media and entertainment company, Novent Concept has been instrumental to the success of many events and talent development. Novent Concept is the mother company for Novent TV, an online TV platform he pioneered.
