At first, the love affair of a banker, Adesunloye Adejobi and a fashion designer, Goodnews Ayotilewa Ayeni was just a secret affair, known to only circle of friends. But then, the connection between them became real years after family learned about their engagement.
On Saturday May, 22nd, the beautiful couple held their classy wedding in the ancient city of Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun state.
All roads in Ogun state led to Daktad Hotel and Suites, the venue of the colourful and memorable wedding ceremony which was attended by their close relatives, friends and eminent personalities whom we will mention later.
The long anticipated wedding session began with church service held at the First Baptist Church in Oke-Ejigbo axis of Ijaye, also in Abeokuta at 9:00 am where the duo of Ayotilewa and Adesunloye Adejobi were joined together in holy matrimony.
The church session was also graced by some families and friends of the two while able ministers of God showered them with prayers as they set to begin a forever journey of destiny.
THE ENGAGEMENT
The yoruba culture was well extoled during the traditional wedding that also took place at Daktad Hotel and Suites. The couple, in the wine-colure Yoruba traditional attires danced to traditional beats popped with gangan and sekere (yoruba musical instruments).
Obviously, the groom’s family fully met all the requirements for traditional wedding as one could see bottles of wine, yam, kegs of palm oil, kola nut, palm whine amongst others displayed on the floor.
The emotion laden bride could not hold back tears that rolled down her face while appreciating her mother, Mrs Ayeni whom she said had made her what she is. She stressed that her mother gave her best of education, describing her as the best mother in the world.
THE UNSUAL RECEPTION
The wedding reception marked the aftermath of the church session. You really needed to see the couple put on blinking black agbada and gown with corresponding clothe accessories.
Guest at the reception could not resist the emotion orchestrated by the soft sound of the love music played for the could to expressed the love they had shared in the secret before the large audience.
After the exclusive dance by the couple, friends and other well wishers took to the platform to dance in felicitation with the new couple. The bride family preferred whine coloured attires while the grooms friends all put on white agbada.
All attendees had enough food to eat and drinks to drink.
PERSONALITIES PRESENT
As both bride and groom belonged to reputable parents, the wedding session was attended by eminent personalities from the political and royal world.
The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) flag bearer in the 2019 Governorship elections, Hon. Ladipopo Adebutu and the Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka of the ADC in same election were both in attendance.
The Onimeko of Imekoland was represented by his Chiefs to register his presence.
Since the husband is a banker, former and present colleague from UBA and First Bank were in attendance.
THE COUPLE’S TESTIMONY
According to the groom, his life saw tremendous and divine acceleration when he met Ayotilewa. He is a former staff of UBA but when he met his bestie, He secured same banking job at First Bank where he currently works and earns double amount of what he used to earned at UBA.
For Ayotilewa, she knew she had met a man with whom she would spend the rest of her life with. One thing she affirmed was that Adesunloye is a man of integrity and number one out of hundred men in her world.
