The Ogun State Council of Ward Secretaries of the governing party, All Progressives Congress has congratulated Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR on the election success.
Prince Abiodun was re-elected Governor for a second term in office, after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared him the winner of the governorship election held on the 18th of March, 2023, after polling 276,298 votes.
Governor Abiodun defeated a close challenger, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the state, Oladipupo Adebutu, after he polled 262,383 votes and 12 other candidates.
From the total vote cast, Abiodun defeated Adebutu with 13,915 votes.
On Thursday 30th of March, 2023 as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) issued certificates of return to Governor Abiodun, his deputy governor-elect, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele and State Assembly members-elect in Abeokuta, Comrade Owolabi Aleshinloye (OwoSports) thanked the electorates for entrusting their mandate on the governor for another four years.
“A well-deserved congratulations to Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, his re-election has shown how generally accepted his government is to the good people of Ogun State.
“His scorecard in the various sectors driving the state is there for us to see, with the different projects cut across the state that has been completed and ongoing.
“The state certainly is poised for economic and developmental greatness with Governor Abiodun and Salako-Oyedele in charge for another term.
“I want to assure Ogun State indigenes, that His Excellency will continue with his aggressive infrastructural drive, all in the view to developing the nooks and crannies of the state.
“With regards to human capital development, more lives will be impacted on with Governor Abiodun’s various empowerment programmes, particularly in the area of skills acquisition and vocational training for the youths.
“Once again and on behalf of the Ogun State APC Council of Ward Secretaries, we express our congratulations to him and with the prayer that the good Lord keeps him alive.”
Recall, the APC won in Ado-Odo/Ota, Yewa-North, Yewa-South, Ipokia, Imeko-Afon, Ewekoro, Odeda, Abeokuta-North, Obafemi-Owode, Ifo, Ijebu-North and Ijebu-Ode local government areas of the state.
