OGHA Screen Abiodun’s Nominee For Judicial Service Commission On Thursday, Constitutes Selection C’mtee

Ogun State House of Assembly has acknowledged the receipt of a correspondence from the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun requesting for the approval of the nomination of Mrs. Oyinkansola Adebimpe Cole as a member of the Judicial Service Commission, following the resignation of a former member of the Commission.

Oluomo, who read the Governor’s letter while presiding over the plenary held at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta requested the nominee to appear for a screening on Thursday, 20th July, 2023 at the Conference Room at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan.

Oluomo added that the nominee was expected to submit thirty (30) copies each of her Curriculum Vitae and photocopies of credentials to the Office of the Clerk/Head of Legislative Service, prior to her appearance before the State lawmakers.

In another development, Speaker Oluomo announced the composition of the Assembly’s Standing Committee for the smooth operation of its legislative duties.

The composition of the Committee according to the Speaker, who would also be the Chairman, are the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Bolanle Ajayi, Majority Leader Yusuf Sherif, the Chief Whip, Olanrewaju Bakare,
Minority Leader Lekan Adeleye,
representatives of the three Senatorial Districts including Honourables Jemili Akingbade (Ogun West), Yusuf Amosun (Ogun Central) and Segun Adesanya (Ogun East).

Earlier, the member representing Abeokuta North State Constituency, Babatunde Tella, presented a petition from 20 Community Development Associations against the planned demolition of over 5,000 buildings his alleged encroachment on military landed property of Division 32, Alamala Barracks, just as his Odogbolu colleague, Lukman Adeleye presented another by the Alaye-in-council of Odogbolu on the activities of land grabbers which could result into security breach and eventual loss of lives and properties.

Responding, Speaker Oluomo assured that necessary stakeholders would be engaged towards addressing the demands of the petitioners.
