PDP: AASG Challenges National Working Committe To Work For More Unity

 

Amalgamated Atiku Support Group(AASG) has challenged the newly inaugurated National Working Committee(NWC) led by Senator Professor Iyorcha Ayu to work for People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to be United.

The group was Optimistic about the new PDP leadership will produced in no small measure fix every challenge at local, state, zonal, region and national levels.

This was made known through a statement signed by the AASG’s Acting National Director of Media & Publicity, Olusegun ‘Pelumi-Olukoga.

“The group recognises the roles former President of the Senate played during 1993 June 12 Presidential election despite pressure and ugly circumstances as at that time, the undiluted high level of integrity demonstrated in and out of political assignments; for this, we believe his emergence as the party’s helmsman will bring good fortune and total turnaround. As a group, we are standing by him and strongly know, he is the right man PDP needs now, to reposition the party for greatness.”

“Now that, Nigeria’s socioeconomic, and political activities require urgent ‘surgery’ as well as attention to getting the sound wellbeing and hope of Nigerian people restored; we know Professor Iyorchia Ayu’s antecedents and achievements in academics, professional fields, politics and governance will play pivotal role to drive the wheel of progress of the party, to ‘national victory’, at this very crucial time in the history of Nigeria”

Furthermore, the group called on the party’s key stakeholders, stalwarts, elderstatesmen, and members of the national working committee as well as zonal and states working committees amongst other structure of the party to rally maximum support for a successful outing under Ayu.

“As a country, we cannot achieve any meaningful democratic dividends in governance without ensuring sound and transparent internal party administration. All hands must be on deck to ensuring robust engagements, cooperation and team spirit across all levels within the party.

As a body of like minds, we will continue to stand with PDP of quality leadership, sound values, peace, fairness, integrity and patriotic antecedents.” the group said.

The group congratulates, the National Chairman, Professor Iyorchia Ayu, a former President of the Senate, Taofeek Arapaja, a former Deputy Governor of Oyo state, as Deputy National Chairman (South), while Umar Damagum, former Governorship Candidate of Yobe State, as the Deputy National Chairman (North) alongside other people elected into different positions to take over the mantle of leadership of the PDP
