Abiodun: I’ll Continue To Prioritize Welfare Of Baales, Traditional Institution

 

The Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun has reiterated that his administration would continue to look out for the welfare of Baales and the traditional institution in the state.

Abiodun made this known at the Palace of the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, during a meeting with Baales in Remoland.

He disclosed that the promise that he made to Baales in the state that they would be receiving stipends on a monthly basis has been fulfilled.

Abiodun who added that his administration would gradually increase the stipends allocated to them as the economy of the state improves, thanked them for their support towards his administration.

While calling on the Baales to enlighten their subjects on the need to vote for the continued development of the state, he noted that “it is unfortunate that some people from my backyard in Iperu think that the office of the governor is a family affair”.

Abiodun who further urged sons and daughters of Remoland to vote him for a second term in office, disclosed that the state would benefit more from Tinubu’s presidency through his own All Progressives Congress-led government in the state.

He informed the Baale that his administration in the last three years has constructed over 400 kilometers of road, some of which are in the Remoland, asking them to educate their people to vote for the continuity that would ensure the completion of the Ogun State International Agro Cargo Airport, Olokola Deep Sea Port and other economical viable projects across the state.

He disclosed that he had received the names of some Baales to be promoted to the position of monarchs from the Akarigbo, ssying that their upgrading would be done very soon.

“God has made a son of the soil in Remoland a governor already, the position of a governor isn’t a family title, God has already given us a governor. As your governor, I am trying my best, if not for hatred, should anyone else come out from my backyard in Iperu?.

“The office of the governor isn’t an office that can be bought, those that have tried that before were not successful.

“Akarigbo has already recommended some of you for upgrading as monarchs, I have taken possession of the list already,” he said.

Earlier, the Akarigbo said, “I have had the opportunity of comparing two governments, I don’t think there has been any government that has been good to us like that of Dapo Abiodun”.

While commending governor Abiodun for the timely payment of their allowances, Oba Ajayi further acknowledged him for providing new vehicles for monarchs in the state.

Akarigbo who commended the governor for ensuring equal distribution of projects across the state, lauded him for completing projects abandoned by his predecessor,. particularly the construction of the Ogun State International Agro Cargo Airport project.

“Our stipends and allowances are paid as at when due, more importantly, issues of our vehicles, eventually, the governor bought brand new cars for us. I said that he should still buy 16 vehicles, four for each council, he gave us 20 vehicles, five vehicles for each traditional council, that is the first phase, we believe when you are back in the saddle, the others will be done. Thank you for also providing us with buses for our four councils.

“More importantly is how Ogun State is beinh governed, let us look at the larger interest of the state, I was in Ota recently to deliver a lecture for the Awori Obas, all the roads mentioned by the Awori Obas have either been completed or being completed.

” On the issue of Oba Erinwole road, he has done it, from here to Iperu to the International Agro Cargo Airport, the flagship of them is the Agro Cargo Airport, our state capital is not left out, all abandoned projects in our state capital had been completed or about to be completed, we have to let our people know that they have to shine their eyes very well so we won’t lose the advantage we have,” he said.

Oba Babatunde Ajayi also thanked Governor Dapo Abiodun for approving the payment of stipends to Baales across the state.

In their respective remarks, the Onirolu of Irolu; Oba Sikiru Adeyiga,the Alakenne of Ikenne;Oba Adeyinka Onakade,the Eleposo of Eposo; Oba Mukaila Akanji, the Onipara of Ipara; Oba Taiwo Taiwo,the Elemuren of Emuren;Oba Segun Adesegun Mobolaji, Ewusi of Makun Sagamu; Oba Timothy Akinsanya and the Elepe of Epe; Oba Adewale Osiberu, commended Governor Abiodun for taking good care of the traditional institution in the state and the people of the state, declaring that they are in support of another term for Governor Abiodun.
