All is now set for the installation of the Chairman of the Ogun State House of Assembly Service Commission and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Hon. Waliu Olayiwola Taiwo as the first Aare Ona Kakanfo of Aworiland.
The honour will be conferred on Taiwo, a former Commissioner for Works in Ogun State, by the distinguished Paramount Ruler of Aworiland and the Olota of Ota, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Prof.) Adeyemi Abdulkabir Obalanlege.
Recall that apart from Ogun State, Aworiland extends to places such as Apapa, Agege, Mushin, Ikeja, Iganmu, Somolu, Bariga, Akoka, Eti-Okun, Iwerekun, Kosofe, Agboyi, Ketu, Obalende/lkoyi, Iru/Victoria Island, Eti-Osa East, Eti-Osa West, Eti-Osa Central, Etikun, Ibeshe and Majidun towns in Lagos State.
Sources revealed that the event, slated for Tuesday May 9, 2023, has been gathering momentum among the indigenes of Aworiland and the residents of the area, who have promised to be part of the ceremony.
According to them, Hon. Waliu Taiwo has paid his dues as an Aworiman, a statesman and a man with much love for his people and Ogun State in general.
They recalled his roles in the development of the Ota and Aworiland, his contributions to the political and economic development of Ogun State as a lawmaker, commissioner and a party leader that always offers advice to the people in government, whenever this is required.
We were informed that as a way of showing love and solidarity for the man of the people, “Aso Ebi” (uniform) for the occasion is out and that four yards go for N2000, while six yards go for N3000.
