Yinka Mafe Removed As Ogun Assembly Majority Leader, LGs/LCDAs Chairmen Ordered To Step Aside

The Ogun State House of Assembly on Friday removed Hon. Yinka Mafe as the Majority Leader of Assembly.
Subsequently, the Speaker of the Assembly announced Hon. Olusola Sonuga as the substantive Majority Leader.
The Assembly also passed a resolution suspending all traditional rulers appointed and promoted  from February, 2019 till May 28, 2019.
Also suspended by the assembly were all the political officers in all the Local  Governments and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state to allow for investigation on allegations leveled against them on gross misconduct and misappropriation of public fund.
The assembly thereafter ordered that the Chairmen and House Leaders in all the LGs and LCDAs should hand over the affairs of the councils to the HOLGA and appear before the Assembly on the 7th of June, 2019.
The House further ordered that all appointments and employments done at the eve of the last administration be reversed including the appointment of “unqualified Permanent Secretaries.”
“All financial agreement entered into between February 1st and May 28 without the Assembly’s resolution be reversed, reviewed and looked into by the present administration,” the House directed.
The council chairmen were also ordered to forward the “activities of your various councils in the last  one year.
“This will enable the current Administration in Ogun State know where you are presently and what you intend to do next in the  LGs/LCDAs.
“Please, treat it as urgent and submit same to the Ministry by Tuesday 4th June 2019,” the Assembly directed in a statement.
All HODs in the councils were also ordered by the  Assembly to submit the report of the activities of their departments between April and December 2018, as well as between January and May 2019 to the “Planner” latest by 10am on Monday 3rd June
