Ogun SSG, Tokunbo Talabi Is Most Powerful Aide In Dapo Abiodun Government

Secretary to the Ogun State Government (SSG), Mr. Tokunbo Talabi is perhaps one of the most popular aides of Governor Dapo Abiodun of the state, and he has never failed to show that he is interested in the success of the government since he got into office.

Talabi’s closeness to Governor Abiodun did not start recently, the Ijebu, Ogun State-born politician has come a long way with the Governor.

The duo have been friends for many years and his appointment as SSG is like a pay back time for him.

However, we were informed that a media report that Mr Talabi used his organisation, Superflux Printing Company, to rig the 2023 election for Governor Dapo Abiodun is from the “enemies of progress, who want to discredit the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun.”

Sources revealed that Talabi is one of the closest allies of Governor Dapo Abiodun, who has been supporting the ambition of the Governor all through his political sojourn, adding that the rumours being peddled around that he influenced votes for the Governor through his organisation, Superflux Printing Company, is false.

Investigations revealed that, while it is true that Talabi is a Director in Superlux Printing Company, which was involved in printing ballot papers for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), he stepped aside from the organisation prior to his appointment as SSG in 2019, when Governor Abiodun was elected for the first term.

“It is true that Mr Tokunbo Talabi is a close pal of Governor Dapo Abiodun, which was why he trusted him with the office of the SSG.

“But the media report that he used Superflux Printing Company organisation to print extra ballot papers, which they said were used to rig the 2023 election for Governor Dapo Abiodun is not true.

“There is no way such would be allowed with the style adopted for the election by the INEC with the use of BVAs and iRev, while the agents of the different political parties were also on ground to monitor the process.

“Talabi is not a dubious character and he is no longer a staff of Superflux Printing Company, so saying that he was involved in election manipulations is a figment of the imagination of the enemies of progress,” said a source.

It was added that Mr Talabi has proven to be a reliable dependant of the Governor, who has done much to improve governance in the state with his support for the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun since he got into office.

We were informed that the report being circulated against Talabi “is part of calculated plan of the opposition to discredit the government of Prince Dapo Abiodun at all cost, but they will fail.”
