Senator Adeola Engages Stakeholders On 2023 Mega Empowerment

 

Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (APC, Ogun West), the chairman of Senate Committee on Appropriation has reeled out mouth watering dividends of democracy coming to his constituents of Ogun West during a Stakeholders Engagement Meeting held in Ilaro over the weekend.

Addressing stakeholders that included Alhaja Salmot Badru, former Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Chief Jide Ojuko, former commissioner, Chief (Mrs) Iyabo Apampa, Chief Olu Agemo, all House of Assembly members from Ogun State and others, Senator Adeola stated that
electioneering campaign has come and gone adding that it is time to work for the benefit of the senatorial district and Ogun State in the Red Chamber where he has been appointed as Chairman of Senate Committee on Appropriation.

Senator Adeola stated that the mega empowerment programme starting in the next few weeks will cover agriculture, health, education, security, infrastructure and poverty alleviation adding that individual beneficiaries need not know him to benefit as processes are in place to ensures all eligible constituents benefit in due course.

Senator Adeola revealed that among the facilitated projects are the construction of 5 libraries 5 local government areas of Ogun West, construction of 12 schools of 12 classrooms complete with furniture, two staff rooms, 6 toilets and a borehole as well as a new market of more than 100 lockup shops complete with 6 toilets and a borehole to supply water.

He further stated that one town hall of the standard built at Empire Ground in Ilaro will be built across the five local government areas of Ogun West as well as 10 roads to be constructed across the senatorial district with each local government area having two adding that two critical care unit are to be constructed in Ota and Ilaro General Hospitals.

The 2023 mega empowerment project includes the construction of primary health care centres for Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ayetoro Campus complete with an ambulance, distribution of transformers across communities in the five local government areas and supply of one grader and one tractor per local government areas to aid farming activities in Ogun West.

Senator Adeola also told stakeholders that he will facilitate a security vehicle to all areas commands across Ogun West, provide 35 thousand textbooks to our pupils in primary and secondary schools as well as improved seedlings with one trailer of fertilizer for farmers and 50 tricycles to all relevant stakeholders in Ogun West.

Other poverty alleviation empowerment facilitation under the programme are 50 mini buses, 100 sewing machines. 400 hair dryers, 250 vulcanizing machines, 400 welding machines and drugs to all primary healthcare centres in Ogun West.

Senator Adeola disclosed that it is time to reap dividends of democracy and not political campaign adding that Ogun State stands a better chance because Governor Dapo Abiodun is not only working for the state but working closely with the President Bola Tinubu adding that he is one of the closest allies of the president, a fact that will attract meaningful development to Ogun State.

“We are all aware that more than 60 to 70 per cent of our roads are federal roads. We need maximum cooperation with the federal government so that all Federal roads embarked upon by our governor in Ogun State will be attended to and all our monies paid back to us in the state” he stated.
