Ijebu East LGA Has Been Receiving Federal Allocations With Evidence, Says Acting Chairman, Adetutu Elizabeth Oyesanya

Ijebu East Local Government has been receiving its allocations from the federal government with verifiable evidence.

This was disclosed by the Acting Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Adetutu Elizabeth Oyesanya, during the inauguration of the Palliatives Coordinating Committee held at the council headquarters, Ijebu Ogbere, on Monday.

The Acting Chairman acknowledged that her local government has not been denied its allocations by the state government.

“I cannot end this speech without thanking our leader, the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, for his leadership and kindness to the people of Ogun State from his assumption of office through the COVID-19 era and up till the present time of post-subsidy removal era.

“Permit me to say here that on resumption of office as the Acting Chairman of the Sunrise Local Government, I was apprised with documents and evidence that Ijebu East LG has been receiving federal allocations through the state government.

“As at now, the local government does not owe traditional rulers their allowances. Primary school teachers, local government staff, and political functionaries’ salaries, including running expenses of the Council are being paid promptly through the local government allocations received via the state government, which sometimes augments the allocations whenever there is a shortfall,” she said.

The Acting Chairman urged the members of the Palliatives Coordinating Committee to see their membership as “a call to service”.

“Let me also use this opportunity to charge members of the committee to ensure a hitch-free, distribution devoid of bias in any form and to ensure the success of the exercise across the local government.
“Our primary target is the poorest of the poor. This is a patriotic call to service and I strongly believe it will be done passionately for the good of our people,” she said.

The Palliatives Coordinating Committee consists of representatives of royal fathers, community heads, Community Development Committees (CDC), the National Youth Council of Nigeria, the Christian Association of Nigeria, the League of Imams and Alfas, market women, and so on.
