The palace of Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, HRM Oba Adedotun Gbadebo has reportedly released a document addressed to the former governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun in year 2017 where he consented to the choice of the current Olota of Ota,, Oba Abdulkabir Adeyemi Obalanlege as the choice of the Ota kingmakers.
The import of the letter tend to lend credence to the position of the Alake that he has consenting authority over Olota of Ota and all the Awori communities under the rulership of the Olota .
It would be recalled that the Alake of Egbaland had raised an alarm over kinship issues in some communities in Aworiland which should naturally fall under the authority of the Olota of Ota, but being claimed by the Alake consequent upon an alleged war between the two ancient towns which was allegedly won by the Egba people and all Awori land being conquered.

The letter with headline FILLING OF THE VACANT STOOL OF OLOTA OF OTA read thus:
I hereby convey my consent for appointment of Prince (Dr) Abdulkabir Adeyemi Obalanlege as the new Olota of Ota.
The Olota of Ota stool became vacant on the demise of late Oba Oyede on Tuesday 24th May, 2016.
Please find attached herewith a copy of the Declaration for the selection of Olota of Ota. Also attached are the documents on the processes taken by the kingmakers for the Olota of Ota stool received in my office today 30th November, 2017.
Please be assured of my warmest regards and highest considerations.
Signed
HRM Oba Adedotun Gbadebo
Okukenu iv
Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland.
